The Popularity of Kimbap
Have you noticed how Kimbap(gimbap) is popping up in more places lately? Korean Kimbap(김밥) is becoming increasingly popular around the world! In the past, the Korean dishes that were most popular with foreigners were mainly bibimbap, bulgogi, and Samgyeopsal (Korean BBQ). However, tastes are changing, and we now see a growing interest in Korean fried chicken and japchae, highlighting the variety of Korean cuisine. It’s interesting to see how preferences have shifted, especially with dishes like Tteokbokki. Just a decade ago, its sticky texture was not for everyone, but now it’s gaining popularity, with many home cooks trying their hand at making it. It makes me genuinely happy to see Korean food being embraced around the world, and I’m eager to share these wonderful flavors with even more people.
Let me introduce you to a different kind of kimbap: Mackerel Kimchi Kimbap, packed with protein! Made with smoked mackerel, it’s super easy to make. The tender mackerel combined with the crunchy kimchi creates an explosion of umami flavors, making this a healthy and delicious kimbap option!

What Is Bibimbap?
Bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish consisting of a bowl of rice topped with a variety of vegetables, meat, a fried egg, and gochujang (Korean chili paste). The ingredients are mixed together before eating, creating a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. Bibimbap is known for its colorful presentation, with the bright vegetables and egg creating an eye-catching dish. It’s a healthy, nutritious meal.
Stir-Fried Gochujang (볶음고추장)
Today I’m going to show you a special bibimbap gochujang sauce – stir-fried gochujang. It’s made by mixing minced meat, gochujang, and various spices. Honestly, you can just mix it with rice without any vegetables and it’s still incredibly delicious. You won’t want to miss today’s stir-fry gochujang recipe!
Vegan Option
Are you vegan? I’ll show you how to enjoy this dish in a delicious way. If you’re vegan, you can simply substitute finely chopped tofu for the meat and it will taste just as amazing. You can easily substitute tofu for the meat in today’s recipe. It’s that easy!
Why Bibimbap is Healthy
Bibimbap allows you to eat a variety of vegetables at once. It also includes protein sources such as meat or canned tuna, providing a well-rounded mix of nutrients. When served with rice instead of refined flour, the meal becomes even more balanced and complete.
