Buldak Omelete
Today we’re making the trendy Buldak Omelete from Malaysia! Spicy Buldak Ramen meets melted cheese and spicy sausage, all wrapped in a soft egg omelet. This is the perfect combination.
How Spicy Is Buldak ramen?
Most people have heard of Buldak Ramen. It is one of the spiciest Korean instant noodles in the world. Many find the idea of eating Buldak intimidating. Wondering just how hot it is?
The original Buldak Ramen has a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating of about 4,400 SHU, while spicier versions like the 2x Spicy can reach up to 8,800 SHU.
To compare with chili peppers:
- It’s hotter than a jalapeño (2,500-5,000 SHU).
- But not as hot as a Habanero (100,000-350,000 SHU).
The Buldak Trend
Do you like ‘Buldak Ramen’? I absolutely love it! Whenever I miss spicy Korean food, I often reach for Buldak. It’s one of those comforting dishes that brings the taste of Korean fiery heat, especially abroad where it’s harder to find spicy food.
Lately, it seems like the Buldak trend has gone global. Even here in Belgium, almost every supermarket sells Buldak, and sometimes it’s sold out! Considering how spicy it is for even many Koreans, it’s fascinating that there’s even a “Buldak Challenge” trending among people worldwide. It’s amazing because, when I was studying in Canada, my host mom tried Shin Ramyun (which is less spicy than Buldak) and ended up with tears in her eyes, haha
Buldak Fusion
These days, social media shows a lot of creative Buldak fusion recipes from abroad. One of the most interesting dishes I’ve seen is in Malaysia, where ‘Buldak Omelet’ is a popular street food. They stir-fry Buldak on a hot griddle, add ham and cheese, and then wrap it all in a soft omelet—it looks incredibly delicious! Plus, it’s so easy to make that I thought sharing this recipe would help more people enjoy Buldak in a new way. For those who find Buldak too spicy, this dish might help you adjust to the heat, haha
Looking for another Buldak fusion dish to try? This is Buldak Creamy Pasta. With the addition of milk, cream, and cheese, it’s rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It’s also a perfect recipe for anyone looking to ease into spicy food!

I’ve been obsessed with Buldak Ramen for ages, but this fusion recipe brings it to a whole new level. The melted cheese and sausage balance out the heat perfectly, and the fluffy omelet is just the right way to wrap up all those spicy noodles. It’s quick to make and tastes AMAZING—definitely a game-changer when you’re craving something fiery but still want a savory meal. I served it with a cold beer, and it was just perfect! Highly recommend!
